DreamCatchers MedTech Hackathon Hong Kong 2016 – 1-week event to create prototypes of healthcare solutions
Co-organised by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP)
Students from Stanford University and Hong Kong universities, and young professionals from HKSTP learnt about Stanford Biodesign methodologies, design thinking, business model canvas principle, and worked in teams to come up with prototypes.
Champion: Eyedrop device to improve ease of eye drop application in elderly patients to increase eye drop compliance
1st runner up: Device to significantly reduce menstrual pain in women in a discreet manner
2nd runner up: Device to reduce frequency of catheter replacement while maintain a low urinary tract infection rate of long term catheterized patient to improve patient’s experience and reduce labour required
